No prep for the honey. Make sure there are no preservatives in the honey. It may not ferment. Other than that, you got it.

How did your brew session turn out? Active fermentation yet?

I forgot to let you know the beer turned out so good! We hit the OG closer than we have any other recipe. We will be making this again. Next we want to make a Yuengling clone but we cannot do a lager yet. Don’t have a way to keep it cool enough during fermentation.

Hey Dornaf22... I add the honey during the last 10-15 minutes of the boil. If you add it too early, the honey aroma will boil off. If you add it too late, any impurities in the honey may not be neutralized. Whatever you do, do not use it in place of the priming sugar or in addition to the priming sugar. If you're bottling, use the right amount of priming sugar or you'll run into all kinds of issues.

Thank-you so much !! So be sure I have this correct, add the honey to last 15 minutes of boil and also use the priming sugar at bottling. Do I need to do any prep on the honey before adding to the wort??

Rob, I have a question about your Honey Brown Ale. I'm brewing it on Sunday and was wondering how you intorduced the honey. Did you boil it for 15 min or was it a fermentation additive? All wisdom appreciated. :-)
