Hi, was wondering how Zach's Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter turned out? Anything you'd change?

The beer came out pretty good! We side by side tasting with our beer and some commercial examples like Sweet Baby Jesus, and while our CPB porter was tasty, it was a touch too heavy on the peanut butter flavor, not quite enough chocolate flavor. If we do this again I'd try a tincture of PB 2 to cut down on any head killing fats, use less PB2 (say half as much in the boil), and use a different source for chocolate, like cocoa nibs. The cocoa powder was a nightmarish mud in the chiller, even after we whirlpooled. If you make this, let us know how it turned out, plz! Cheers!

Try my updated version Frosty's Finest II. Just out of curiosity, what ABV did yours turn out last year? I used more hops in the new recipe and used a different yeast that's slow to start but higher attenuation.

I can't find my notes on the brew day for this beer (ugh!). If memory serves the ABV was around 7.5% The only thing I can think is that since I had some trouble with hop & trub clogging my CFC I didn't get full volume in the fermenter. I am planning to do a version of this beer again now that I have a hop spider. This was a great beer, and I got good feedback from pro brewers on it. Will try the new version you mention!
