Awesome

by mxpx5678

This beer is awesome and turned out so good. It is your basic Mirror Pond clone but dry hopped with galaxy hops instead. It is really good. It will become a staple of my homebrewing.

Not exaggerating...it is awesome!

by AleEvangelist

I had a bottle from his first batch, and it turned out great! You would not believe the fantastic aroma on it! It's amazing what the galaxy hops do for it!

My favorite beer so far!

by jheidster

I decided to give this recipe a shot since I love mirror pond and also noticed the two great reviews. It did not disappoint one bit! In fact it is my favorite beer and I'm not just talking about my own homebrews.

I am enjoying my imperfect version more than I enjoy the real Mirror Pond...and I am my biggest critic! Thanks so much for posting this mxpx5678! It will definitely be brewed again and again!

Amazingly Good!!

by SkidMark

First try at dry hopping. That was educational in itself. This beer is a perfect Mirror Pond clone. Definitely in my keg rotation!

Great Beer

But let it age, it will get so much better

Try this twist

by Zimbitti

Due to availability, I made this with Citra hops in place of the Galaxy. It
is definitely my favorite brew so far!!! Just finished my second batch to see if
it was a fluke or not....will let you know.

Outstanding... and FAST!

I needed a brew to round out my 6th tap for a party last weekend. I brewed up a 10g batch of this on a Saturday, dry hopped it on Wednesday AM, it was done fermenting at 1.011 by Saturday AM, I kegged and force carbed and it was the hit of the party! Will brew it again for sure.

Loved it

by adriedel

The Galaxy has a unique flavor that stands out compared to any hops ive had. Will make again and again as long as i can find galaxy.

I love Galaxy but....

I got a bit of astringency in the finished beer. The aroma is wonderful, and the conditioning is awesome. It's possible that my sparge water was too hot, but that's not happened before. I wonder if it's coming from the Cascade hops boiling over 90 minutes. Anybody else notice this? I might try a 60-minute boil next time.

by krazydave

Made this about 6 weeks ago after seeing how highly rated it was. It came out a little more bitter and astringent than I care for in a pale ale and I hit all of the numbers dead on. The galaxy hops are a good alternative to the usual hops I've been using lately though, so that's a plus. I made a 10gal batch and split it using the WLP002 and US-04. The WLP002 came out a little cleaner and a tad sweeter, so I would go with that again if I ever make this recipe again. My guess though is that I won't be making it again.
Overall, I think it's a decent beer, but definitely not one of my favorites.

Made this Spring before going to all grain. Subbed light LME to reduce 2 row and it was still great. Will do all grain version next Spring. Thanks>

Excellent Recipe!

I finally got around to making this a few months back and my friends and family LOVE it! Mine came out a little darker than Mirror Pond but it is very similar, w/Mirror Pond being my go to beer. For fun, I think I'll try the next batch with 1187 (Ringwood Ale) which is supposed to be as close as you can get to the house yeast Deschutes uses. Awesome job on the recipe, thanks for sharing!

its a cracker!

I used wyeast west yorkshire. Its one of the best beers i've made.

Wonderfully hoppy

by BeerJD

Let age a little while but the best beer I have produced yet

WINNER!!!!

by joshwooding

I brewed this using the BIAB technique and it won a home brew pro/am competition! It was a HUGE hit!! LOVED it!

My best so far!

by jnordb

I'm on my second batch of this; both have turned out wonderful. I used citra instead of galaxy though (my lhbs didn't have any galaxy in stock.) Took a growler of this to work yesterday and everyone who tried it wanted more. This will be in my permanent rotation...

Great Recipe!

I brewed this recipe and it turned into a very tasty beer. It has a great aroma and a mild bitterness. The Galaxy Hop really adds a lot to this recipe. After just 3 days in the bottle, I opened one of the bottles so that I could see how it was doing. Now, I can't stop sampling...

Great Beer

by threedap

Did this one BIAB, it's the best I've done yet. Wonderful hop aroma, smooth bitterness & great flavor. About to brew it again, it will become my "house pale".

What is the mash temp of this recipe?

Can't get any better

This is my favorite tasting IPA ever. Made another batch and ready to put into secondary. Should have this on tap in 2 weeks. Very satisfied with this recipe.

Best recipe i have try so far.
Very nice beer....

by GPP33

I brewed this one up with a couple twists to the grain bill and used WLP001. Excellent beer, nice work!

by bradentanner22

Great experience

by mapuluxo

Especially the dry hoping. Never done that befoore :)

by OMFGBrews

Great recipe, I swapped out the galaxy as we couldn't get any over here in New Zealand for Mosaic and it was incredible one of the best I've made. A back end taste that keeps on going. Delicious.

First All Grain Brew

by DaveHarry

Thankyou for sharing the recipe. This was my first brew and I boiled for 60 instead of 90 minutes. Can't wait to drink it. I liked the combination of cascade and galaxy hops

Terrific favor

by jcech344

Tried this because of the many and favorable reviews. Substitutes Citra for Galaxy as I couldn't get them. Followed everything as listed. Best beer I have made and it went in a flash. Will keep this as a regular.

Thanks
