Working hard on the BeerSmith mobile phone version for Android and iPhone. The lite version will let you view/download your cloud recipes directly as well as run a brewday timer and a number of tools. Planning to release it this fall.
The full version will take a few months longer - but will allow recipe creation and editing on the phone. Also planning to have iPad/Android tablet specific versions to follow.

Just curious if there will be feature where you can add a quick description of your beer in the cloud? This would come in handy for specialty beers, beers with special ingredients/process, or even if they won any awards. I am thinking this would be something you could manually enter on your recipes page on the cloud.

You can add your notes and description to the recipe and they will be listed with the recipe online. I am thinking of adding awards marks in the future.

A bit of news - all Gold or higher members will now have their cloud edits save - so if you edit a recipe in your cloud folder you can show older versions from your web account as well.
To show the older versions, log into your web account here, open your recipe and click on "Older Versions" right next to the bookmark link (Gold members or higher only). It automatically archives your edits!

Over 4,200 users and 7,000 recipes in the first month - not bad!

Not bad. How many people have purchased BeerSmith? Trying to gauge potential here.

I don't have an accurate total but I think we'll see thousands more join in the fall once the brewing season starts up again

Question for you about your Brookline Amber. I see two .75 oz additions of cluster hops at 45 min. It does not look right. What is the correct formula for this beer.

Check with ibrewalot (here on the site) - it was actually his recipe originally (one of the sample recipes submitted to me).

I started brewing last Cecember. My first beer was an extract brown ale. It must have gotten a bug it was nasty. So sour it was like vinigar. I said to hell with this and then I found Beersmith and went all grain. I have become a brewing madman. I brew every week and have joined the local brew club. O-Town Hop Heads of Ogden Utah.

All grain is more work but more fun. I switched to all grain three brews ago. Won't be going back to partial mash. I just budget the whole day and take my time and enjoy.

All grain does rock - in fact I'll be talking about BIAB (a simple method for all grain) at the national homebrew conference next month.

Hey Brad. Thanks for the update. Strangely after installing it wiped out all my custom recipes. Also in the past when changing the document directory it has wiped out any recipes in the new directory. It would be nice to just import those recipes instead of wiping them out. Thankfully I have backups because it would be devastating to lose these permanently. The cloud really solves the issue but not if your run disconnected. Thanks again!

Obviously it should not wipe out anything when you upgrade - drop me an email (use contact us at the bottom of the page) and I'll see if I can help you out.
