Thank you for your input. We have made this beer alot and nobody has complained of Phenolic flavors before. I had to go look up what that meeans :( and in the process found this interesting article.

Question. It appears that my recipe calls to prepare all water at once, salt for mash, boil then add more salt to sparge water. Am I looking at this correctly?
