Johnny, I did do the Late Extract Addition method. I put 25% of the Liquid Extract in the wort at the beginning of the boil and added the rest with 15 min. left in the boil. I used hop bags to put the hops in so didn't worry about racking off the hops or sediment. You do ferment in the primary for 2 months. This brew takes at least 4 months to do if you follow the directions. Remember we are doing a lager and lage yeast take more time. I had my refrigerator temp set using a temp controller.

Harley,
Saw the Lenny's Maibock is Yourbock recipe and had a few questions:
Recipe shows a total of 3 oz. hallertau and 1 oz. of Saaz hops. If I were to do the late malt extract addition method do I use these amounts or ¾ of the amounts? In your recipe notes you don’t indicate which you did.
When the wort has cooled do you rack out the hops / other sediment before pitching the yeast or leave it in there? I’ve never done that with the Ales I’ve made.
It says ferment in the primary for 2 months. Should that read weeks? Seems like a long time. I’ve never done a lager before and the Ales I’ve made seem to ferment substantially quicker.
Thanks in advance,
Johnnywishbone
