Taste Notes
Brewing on 4-26-14. Dave used harvested Mexican Lager yeast in 2 L starter.
I used 2 new Wyeast Budvar Lager in 3 L starter. Stir plate died and didn't get it fixed in time to start my harvested Mexican.
Very good. I'll make it again for sure!!Notes
Brewed on 4-26-14. Mashed in @ 153 F. Went very well. No problems. Made no changes.
Final runnings 1.010. PBG 1.044. OG 1.051. Close enough. 60 min sparge, 90 min boil. Had plenty of wort. Need to reduce boil off for warmer weather. Nice color. Very clear. Pitched yeast @ 52F. Put directly in ferm chamber @ 50 F.
5-7-14 Started ramping up for D-Rest
5-11-14 Started ramping back down.
5-18-14 Rack to secondary and start lagering.
5-18-14. Racked to secondary. FG-1.016 both yeasts. Strange. Oh well.
The Budvar 1/2 was very clear. Mexican 1/2 pretty cloudy. Couldn't taste much difference in the samples. Started lagering @ 35 F.
5-18-14. Kegged. Need beer for wife's birthday. Nice color.
6-15-14 Excellent. A bit dry on the finish due to the yeast strain. Still great. Beautiful clear amber color. This Recipe Has Not Been Rated
