Notes

vienna malt was used only because i ran out of Golden Promise, and the GP was used only because i didn't have any plain 2-row on hand.
i got 5.8 gal into the fermentor at 1.077 OG.
i was swirling another carboy to rouse the yeast when i swirled too widely and hit the carboy with the breakfast stout, and caused a small round chip to fly off it. the hole was below the beer level so beer started leaking straight our of the carboy. looked like the carboy was peeing. i immediately tipped the carboy to put the hole above the beer level, rigged up some nearby wood blocks to hold the carboy in that tilted position, sanitized a small piece of foil, covered the hole, then duct-tapped the entire area. some air might have gotten in, but not a lot.
Bottled on 1/13 at about 2.2/2.3 volumes. FG: uncorrected 1.044 on refract, 1.023 corrected. added about 7 oz of bourbon, in which ~1.5 oz nibs were soaked for a few days. cold-brewed 1.75 oz of coffee and added the extract. put the carboy in the recycling bin due to the crack. This Recipe Has Not Been Rated
