Taste Notes
Gold medal in New Mexico State Fair, 2011.
A great version of an English Brown Porter. It was chocolatey, nutty, and smooth. Just what I want in any porter. Made this for a fishing trip with my dad.Notes
added 1/4 tsp CaCl2 to mash water. Mash pH 5.0. Preboil gravity = 1.047. boiled 1 hour, forgot to check Start gravity. Oxygen for about 30 seconds.
5/17: gravity 1.022, taste is good, slight roughness, could use a little aging. Bottled 5/21/11 with 1.3 oz sugar for 2 volumes CO2. Tasted great! This Recipe Has Not Been Rated
