Notes

Added 1.143 lbs of Golden DME to make up 7 lost gravity points as per 65% estimated brewhouse efficiency Boiled down just over half a gallon of extra runnings to 3 cups or 1.130 SG and added at flame out. Original recipe 1.122 w/ 2 lbs of DME and 2 lbs brown sugar Preboil (adjusted) 1.078 -> OG 1.092 @ 5.7 gallons + 2 lbs brown sugar OG = 1.109 (Estimated 1.103 OG (1.086 w/o brown sugar) Meaning…if 2 lbs DME was still in the recipe OG @ 65% estimated brewhouse efficiency OG would have been 1.118. So w/ 1.109 and only 1.143 lbs = only losing 9 points. Furthermore, if I had added 2 full pounds of DME I would have gone from 1.071 to 1.083 instead of 1.078 -> adding 1.143 lbs to 5.5 gallon recipe would have gotten me to an estimated OG of 1.112 so only missing 3 points which I probably would have gotten had if I had boiled down to 5.5 gallons…SO only made up 7 points from mash and the boiled down extra wort helped make up some more points.
