- Made yeast starter at start of brew day 2 cups water and 1 cup DME -heated 16L of water to 80* and mashed in took temp of mash 65.9* -did batch sparge in 2 steps of 13L at 76* -took sample and cooled to 20* took reading 1.041 - boilded for 60 mins - first hops at the 60 min mark start of boil 41g's of Amarillo - second lot of hops with 15min's to go Fuggles 18g's and whirlfloc tablet - third hops at flame out 18g's of fuggles -chilled the wort and took reading 1.055 - put in the fermenter and added the yeast starter.
