Use a water to grain ration of 1.36 qt/lb. 16.5 lb * 1.36 qt/lb = 22.44 qts (5.61 gals or 5 gals & 2.317 l) ------------------------------------- Boil Off: 1.5 gal Grain Absorption: 0.313 qt/lb * 16.50 lb = 5.165 qt (1.29 gal) Grain Absorption: 0.293 qt/lb * 16.50 lb = 4.8345 qt (1.209 ga/) Total Water: 5.2gal + 1.5 gal + 1.29 gal = 7.99 gal ------------------------------------- Sparge with 7.99 - 5.61 = 3.38 gals (3 gals & 1.438 l) NOTE (12/23/12): Use 0.814 gals less for Sparging ------------------------------------- Dry hop with Amarillo and Simcoe. Hold for 36 hours, then chill to 34 F. Hold for 10 days. Use Galaxy to substitute Amarillo.
