Taste Notes
Dry and very crisp, slight fruit and biscuit notes at the end. Just a simple kolsh but goes great on a hot day of yard work. This has been favorite around my home for years and many people look forward to it BBQs and family get togethers.Notes
I don't even remember where I got the first interpatation of this recipe but my first try was a complete failure. I was new and did not have a way to control my fermentation temp other than put it in a cool place and hope for the best. A year later I had a temprature controlled fermenter and converted freezer and was doing lagers as well as ales. When my wife forced me to relocate to another room in the house I found the hand written recipe. I decided to give it a try again now that i knew more and was able to properly control fermentation. 3 months later I was impressed and began researching and tweeking the recipe. This is my 14th version and the one that I have used for the last 3 years. I am an all grain brewer now but I still brew this one with extract. I know it's hard to measure out 5 pounds of liquid extract but I normally brew this in 15 gallon batches and purchase my extract in 33lb containers. 15 for each batch and 1.5lbs or each starter. Warming the extract in hot water helps to seperate it.
