Notes

Brewed Sat March 8. First time experiencing stuck sparge. Grains were milled at .020 at capncork. I asked that he run them twice but he offered to grind at .020 instead of .025. Bad idea!! Had to pull copper false bottom out of mash tun during third step of sparge. This caused pre-boil volume to be about a quart light. Either boil wasn't vigorous enough or I miscalculated boil off rate. Ended up over batch size hitting fermenter by about 12-16 oz. Should have been short because of light pre-boil volume. This accounted for OG of that was 1052 instead of 1060 Also first batch that I tried to "create" a water profile. I used Kroger brand RO water. Bottled Saturday April 11, 2014. Use bottling wand attached with a piece of hose to bottling bucket. Worked great, especially because I left the bottle tub full of iodophor. Spring in bottling wand tend to clog with hop material, but it was easy enough to rinse in tub behind me.
