Taste Notes
Inspired by my trip to Bavaria for Octoberfest...Greate balance, smooth taste, great bannana and clove flavor, straw color - a great Weizen!Notes
A great beer - needs to be aged for at least a month for the strong yeast to smooth out a bit. Sparge slowly to avoid a stuck sparge (lots of wheat). Prost is the traditional German toast - like saying "Cheers!"Ratings
Superb!
by mkisahleitnerBrewed a 20l batch, and everybody loved it! Brewing a 40l batch now.
It is actually very well balanced because of the pale malt adittion (I used Maris Otter from Muntons). I also replaced the yeast (because I couldn't find it) with Mangrove Jack`s M20 - Bavarian Wheat.
Delicious!
by scaredandprofaneI used WLP351 and ended up with an abv of 5.1% Its fantastic! nicely balanced and tastes like a real Bavarian beer!
Boa demais !!!!
by SdronyEssa foi minha primeira cerveja , ficou sensacional . muito obrigado por disponibilizar a receita usei o fermento sy55 .
Easy but taaaaasty
by dmartinfI used dry yeast (Fermentis WB06) and I'm also pretty happy with the results. Easy receipe for begginers with a short list of ingredients. Love it!
? yeast choice
by dandyMy first attempt, brewed in bag... it was drinkable and enjoyable. Weizen colour and haze and head were all there. The flavour was strong lemon.. not what I'd hoped for. Was it the use of Mangroves M20? (or was it some rogue element)
Prost! Weizen
by johnanschutzMy wife and I are really enjoying this beer. Thanks so much for sharing this. It just gets better and better with each sip. Very nice to enjoy a lighter great brew.
Excellent Weiss
by GargamelBrewed a mini batch of this recipe, and it did not dissappoint. Best beer I've made so far, and out of all the beers I serve to other people now, this is definitely the one that makes their eyes widen while drinking and their faces turn into a great smile as they put the glass down. It simply tastes like a great weizen! Fresh, great banana aroma and well balanced. Used Whitelabs Hefeweizen.
