Taste Notes

Tasted 10/1 I over sparged so it is a little thin. Nice hope nose and flavor. The malt needs to be bigger. Should have boiled longer since I over sparged

Notes

Brew #10. 50 Gal. YTD Racked to Secondary 9/18 and dry hopped with 1 oz cascade. Nice delicate sweet tast when racked. Bottled on 9/26/04. Sweet aroma with a nice hop nose. Maybe a little over hopped. We will see after it conditions. Tasted 10/1. A little thin but a nice hoppy flavor and aroma. A delicate sweetness in the backround. More like a pale ale than what I was shooting for due to oversparging.

one of my best so far

by Tomaso

I brewed this as my 15th batch and it is really my best so far. I love this beer!
Instead of rye I used oats and instead of the crystal 30 cara amber. Don't know if this makes much of a difference but I'll definitely brew this one again soon!! Thanks for sharing the recipe!!

Great taste and great aroma

by DrRex

I made this beer with a few tweaks: I used Caramel/Crystal 60L instead of the 30L and I used Amarillo hops instead of Cascade. Also used a different type of yeast. Very good beer though. Will certainly make again.

Very good Amber

by Wolfhaus

This really turned out well. I may tweak a little but its hard to mess with something that is very good to start. I'm going to make the second batch next. Cheers!
