Taste Notes
Astringency (not excesive) = more of a harsh, stingy, rough QUALITY
-Careful not to over sparge (i.e. create an environment during the lauter where temps exceed 170F or ph goes above 6), or get grain in the boil, or boil hops for too long (maybe do away with warrior and use simcoe or amarillo instead)Notes
(1) Collected ~7.5 gal pre boil at SG = 1.046
-FWH tasted very bitter
(2) Collected ~6 gal into fermentor
(3) OG = 1.052
(4) Dry hopped (1 oz. Simcoe, 1 oz. Amarillo) when krausen started to fall (8 days after start of fermentation 11/11), SG=1.016. Beer was still a bit sweet and lacked hop aroma compared to real Gumball Head. Everything seems to be on track.
Simcoe = 25oz
Amarillo = 48oz
