Taste Notes
A pleasant floral aroma with a taste that hints of stone fruit and which lingers on the palate long after the beer is drunk. This beer has a crisp clean finish with a light to medium body and is golden in colour.
Batch X - Tasted 29/01/2012 - Bloody fantastic! I like the lower bitterness, it seems to bring out more flavour and aroma somehow, perhaps this is just a great batch of hops. So, light, refreshing with stone fruit on the palate.
Batch X - Tasted 5/2/2012 - I've changed my mind a bit as the hops prevelence wanes. Now I think it is not bityter enough and too light. I am going back to 31 litres start and I will use 15 grams of bittering hops for batch Y.
Batch Y - The best so far. I now mash all my brews for 75 minutes.Notes
Batch X - Brewed - 21/01/2012

9:18 Started filling kettle and switched on - 31 litres (top thin line)
10:10 Added grain and stirred for a couple of minutes
11:41 turned on kettle to step up to mash out (an hour and a half! Ooops!)
12:00 Start mash out
12:15 Fire up the kettle (Again got side tracked with work!)
*** Not quite 27 litres and that was with squeezing the buggery out of the bag ***
12:55 Finally ready for the bittering hops (about 10 minutes of boiling before I added the hops)
13:40 Added flavour hops and whirfloc
13:50 Added aroma hops
13:55 Switched off kettle - thank God! It is hot in here today! (Just over 23.5 litres)
*** About 3 litre boil off it would seem ***
16:05 Cubed. (Just over 23 litres) Lots of crap in the bottom made it into the cube.
