Taste Notes

This beer turned out great. It to a Gold at the National Regional. It also finished 3rd for BOS at Sicilianos and took a gold for Mini-BOS with a 40.5 score. Comments said it was just a little dark for style, a little hoppy, a little high on carbination, needs to be a little drier, just a little to sweet. So lower carb, reduce the crystal or lower L number, maybe drop the mash temp to finish drier.

Notes

Dreaming Creek Brewery 1792 Kentucky Common clone recipe & Goatsman Kentucky Common recipe. I combined them and altered it. Tried to use 6 row but they did not have it, so swtiched to Brewers Malt. Called for us05 but Siciolanos just moved and were out of it. Switched to Omega OYL-06. They did not have 1st, second or 3rd choice of yeast. Ended up with Wyeast 1098
