Taste Notes
Homebrewtah 35
Generally well recieved. One mentioned some excess fruitiness that might have come from the hops. Another commented that it was one dimentional and bland.
Happy Holidays 42
One judge remarked that it was a bitter beer perhaps indicating it was to bitter?
The national Judge gave it a 44 with the note ‘I would buy this by the case!’
Midwinter Homebrew Fest: 38
Generally very positive comments. The only critique is one person said a touch more hop might be nice. Otherwise they said it had good complexity and good drinkability which makes me wonder how it didn’t crack 45.
Kansas City BeirMeisters: 40
Grand Master Judge noted mild oxidation. Otherwise his opinion was mostly stylisitc. Needed more hops, less body maybe less sweetness.
Given this has the best initial score of any beer so far, I’m tempted to brew it again as is. Next time try another yeast. Maybe just the classic WLP001.Notes
Used a blanket on mash tun.
