Taste Notes

Americas finest City: (Tough comp) 31 (average) Rick was harsh but he didn’t mention any flaws outside of the fact he wanted it fresh (was 2-3 months since bottling at this point) Elba even moreso. Her assesment was that it lacked almost any flavor. Went on in the comments about more hops. But also a touch confusing as English was not her first language I’m guessing. Both remarked about astrignecy. Spring Fling: (Also tough) James Bossany mentioned low aroma across the board. Low flavor, malty balance and slightly sweet. Remarked that it was lacking freshness (would have been a little more than 4 months since bottled. Lacking flavor everywhere. “More of a blonde ale.” Lawrence Crabtree metnioned a phenolic aroma. Low malt aroma moderate hops. Seconded oxygen. Low malt, moderate hops, harsh finish. 8 Seconds of Froth: Kyle Bystrom noted moderate low malt aroma, moderate citrus hops. Moderate low malt flavor, moderate high grapefruit, lemon and lime. Moderate bitterness. Overall good comments but also mentioned astrigency and said the driness takes away a little. Other judge was non bjcp with not much to say. Prescription. Astrigency was an issue (and more prominant than last time I think). Also we’re going to start fresher this go around.
