Taste Notes
July 21, 2014
First tasting. A little under carbed. Great balanced bitterness. Malty but not sweet. Fresh a clean. Cleared up a little, not too cloudy. Subjective alcohal strenght suggests my OG was near the target. I wish there were more hop aromatics. The citra is not really coming through, maybe hops were not too fresh?Notes
Pre-Boil Gravity (3 galons):
1.037 @ 168 -> 1.062
Apparently this means I got 91.4% Efficiency.
I ended up adding half the hopstand hops at flameout and half at about 150 degrees while cooling. We put the wert in the freezer to cool it more. Seems like it'll never cool.
Post-Poil
1.098 @ 116 -> 1.108
Also had a lot of trouble separating the hops from the wort. Maybe next time use a bag.
I'm not quite sure what my OG was. I took a few readings but they didn't seem accurate. uh-oh.
July 6, 2014 (Day 6)
1.016 @ 73 deg F ->1.017
July 8, 2014 (Day 8)
1.014 @ 86 deg F ->1.017 ** Seems to be more or less done
->Added Dry hops
July 14, 2014 (Day 14)
Bottled 16.36 L of beer. The hops absorbed a lot of the beer.This Recipe Has Not Been Rated
