Notes

11/13/23 - Started recirculating at 10 min into the first step. Pulled out basket to help with stuck sparge. Use rice hulls when using wheat next time. Temps holding nicely. Step heating time is a little off. Takes a shorter time increasing temp. Mash paddle’s broke. Need to use metal. Made a mess running the hose through the window. Leaked from the hose clamps; pressure pushed the end of the hose around like a snake (messy). Started whirlpool at chill out. Running chiller/whirlpool concurrently. Took about 15 minute to drop wort to 85F. Pitched the yeast @75F; 6pm 11/14/23 - Fermentation started. Fermenting at 70F 11/15/23 - Fermentation slowed a ton during the day. Using an opaque fermentation bucket; hoevers, kraussen appears to have has subsided Future Version: - Use rice hulls in mash - increase SRM to closer match style guidelines - Pitch different yeast strain - Step mash worth?
