Notes

This was my first 10 gallon batch in the new kettle and brewing system. It is the combo of the Opala and the Lesula Pale Ales, as the only difference is the Citra addition at FO and two different yeast strains. I wanted to see if this technique of splitting up batches with a fill of half to one fermenter, than add Hop addition for an additional 15 minutes during cool down. Steeping grains in pot seemed to be a cmplete nightmare. I placed 2x the amount of grains that I should have into the steeping process. I think that I may have gotten about half the liquid out. Last minute, I decided to add 1 pound of DME to compensate for the last of sugar that I would have gotten from the steeping. After taking the OG, I would have been fine as the OG was higher than I was targeting, but certainly find in the end.
