Taste Notes
Tasted side by side with Chimay Cinq Cents and Delerium
Definately closer to Chimay in color and flavor profile. Chimay was just a little more bitter. Might consider boosting the hops a bit next time.
Western Idaho Fair: 38
Most mentioned rather high phenols. Issac even said it ran away with the beer a little. Cotton suggested a colder temperature. Both seemed to think it was sweet. Issac suggested it might be under
attenuated. Maybe the alcohol?
Boneyard Brewoff: 36
Generally good all around both judges said they were looking for more yeast fermentation character which is kinda the opposite that I got from Idaho. Could be a matter of preference?
Southern New England Regional Homebrew Competition: 29
Both judges echoed the same comment from the Boneyard Brew off. Mentioned that it could use more phenolics. Also mentioned that it was a bit thin, lacked gainy character and complexity and was undercarbonated. (Despite the large head)
