Taste Notes

Indiana Brewers Cup 2nd Place Score 33 Astringency on the end appeared to be a fairly major issue with this batch. Malt and hop character are about right according to National judge. Other remarked about thin body. Western Idaho Fair: 36’ Mostly good. A couple noted some bitterness. Biggest comment was more malt complexity. One noted that aroma was a touch low. Needs to be bigger with more malt character. Bonyard Brewoff 41 All comments very good. Both judges remarked that the beer was hazy. One judge noted some smokienss but it didn’t come across as a flaw. Both commented that it was nearly flawless. Hard to know what to improve from these comments. Southern New England Regional Homebrew Competition 28 Both judges commented on harsh astrigency from rosted grains. (Note that their clarity was brilliant) One noted that there was some oxidation. Extra work bottling might eliminate that.
