Notes

Start heating water, weigh and mill grain. 1:18 - Water at 168F. Add to tun. Tun temp at 158. Close lid and set time for 60 minutes. 1:18 - Start heating the 4.5 gallons of sparge water to 168F. 2:18 - Start heating tun for mash-out. Going to 168F. 2:28 - Sparge started with 168F water. 2:48 - Finish sparge. 7.5 gallons in boil kettle. 1 gallon waiting to go into boil kettle. Pre-boil Specific gravity on first 7.5 gallons is 1.016 at 188F. Corrected to 1.048. OG on gallon is 1.004 at 140F. Adjusted to 1.020. 4:23 - Boiled 8.5 gallons down to 7.75 gallons. OG is 1.010 at 212F. Corrected to 1.050. Added 1.5 oz of Magnum. Set timer for 45 minutes. 6:09 - Added 1 oz of Cascade and whirl floc tablet. Set timer for 10 minutes. 6:19 - Added 2 oz of Cascade. Set timer for 5 minutes 6:24 - Started Cool down. 6:51 - Wort at 80F. 6.25 gallons with OG measured at 1.056 at 80F. Siphoned into secondary fermenter. FG uncorrected is 1.018. Added 2 oz Cascade DRY HOP. Siphoned through fine nylon mesh into a clean dcarboy to get beer off of the dry hops. Bottled 51 bottles. Adjusted FG is 1.010.

awesome hop flavor

i brewed this recipe as is and it came out wonderful. Great hop flavor with a good dry finish. i will be brewing this one again soon.
