Notes
Start heating water, weigh and mill grain. 1:18 - Water at 168F. Add to tun. Tun temp at 158. Close lid and set time for 60 minutes. 1:18 - Start heating the 4.5 gallons of sparge water to 168F. 2:18 - Start heating tun for mash-out. Going to 168F. 2:28 - Sparge started with 168F water. 2:48 - Finish sparge. 7.5 gallons in boil kettle. 1 gallon waiting to go into boil kettle. Pre-boil Specific gravity on first 7.5 gallons is 1.016 at 188F. Corrected to 1.048. OG on gallon is 1.004 at 140F. Adjusted to 1.020. 4:23 - Boiled 8.5 gallons down to 7.75 gallons. OG is 1.010 at 212F. Corrected to 1.050. Added 1.5 oz of Magnum. Set timer for 45 minutes. 6:09 - Added 1 oz of Cascade and whirl floc tablet. Set timer for 10 minutes. 6:19 - Added 2 oz of Cascade. Set timer for 5 minutes 6:24 - Started Cool down. 6:51 - Wort at 80F. 6.25 gallons with OG measured at 1.056 at 80F. Siphoned into secondary fermenter. FG uncorrected is 1.018. Added 2 oz Cascade DRY HOP. Siphoned through fine nylon mesh into a clean dcarboy to get beer off of the dry hops. Bottled 51 bottles. Adjusted FG is 1.010.Ratings
awesome hop flavor
by Ddanilowi brewed this recipe as is and it came out wonderful. Great hop flavor with a good dry finish. i will be brewing this one again soon.
