Notes

10-29-2020 Copied from 03-31-2019 Batch. Changed Equipment Profile Updated ingredients to current inventory. Increased Grains and Hops to match previous batch SG and IBU 12-27-2020 BREW DAY BATCH #224. See "Brew Data" spreadsheet for details. Per BrunWater, Mash Additions 2.65 Gypsum, 1.45 CaCl, Sparge Additions 2.03 Gypsum, 1.11 CaCl, 2.42 mL Lactic. Yields an estimatged Mash pH of 5.73, actual pH measured 5.27 without any Lactic. Sparge pH measured 5.48 without any Lactic so I did not use the 2.42 mL in the sparge. Should maybe check water pH and or have it tested again. Had a few issues with this brew day. Both Monster Mill and Barley Crusher had issues milling the grain. Lot's of Munich Malt which if I remember correctly does have a tendancy to cause issues. Opend the gap a little and it seemed to go ok. About half milled through Monster and half though Barley Crusher. Also seemd like maybe the Midnight Wheat did not crush very well, possibly due to smaller kernals. Nice ruby brown color, nice aroma, hint of chocolate, tiny bit of roast. Tastes pretty good, no off flavors, could maybe have a little slickness to it? Not sure if it's there because I'm looking for it. SP to 58 01-26-2021 7:00 PM SP 55 01-27-2021 7:00 PM SP 52 02-27-2021 KEGGED Ferm had 5.50 to 5.625? Left about .50 in Ferm, it came out the gas QD. Tilt 1.010 to 1.011, Glass Hydro 1.008. OG 1.054 to 1.008, 5.25 Gallons, ABV 6.1% pH 4.37 at 51.60. Tastes good, just a little bit of raost but it's very mild and smooth. Almost chocolate without any bite to the roast. 03-28-2021 Gave a sample to Scott Martin, he picked up some Green Apple on the nose and flavor. He said it was pretty mild. Neither CeCe or I picked up any of that. CeCe usually has a pretty good pallette for tasting that.
