27AN2020: BREWDAY
26Jan: Made 2L starter with 7oz DME and WLP013 harvested 03Dec2019 from Moose Drool (4th harvest). Added a shake of yeast nutrient to starter. Starter looked healthy.
Added 7.5G Spring Water to kettle (2.35" headspace)
Heated strike water to 164D. Began Mash at 157D.
1st Mash volume: 8.4G .68" headspace. (Had to leave 13oz of 1st mash grains out. Miscalculated the headspace. Added to 2nd Mash Grains for 9lbs 13oz on 2nd Mash)
1st Mash PH: 5.6
1st Mash SG: 1.037
1st Mash finished at 154D
Mashed out at 154D
2nd Mash volume: 8G. 1.5" headspace
Began 2nd Mash at 156D.
2nd Mash PH: 5.38
2nd Mash SG: 1.082
2nd Mash finished at 152D
Volume into boil: 6.67G (3.95" headspace
OG: 1.086
30Jan: Emptied ball. Hair over 6G left.
30Jan: SG 1.022
1Feb: Emptied ball. All trub
1Feb: SG 1.020
3Feb. Emptied ball. 5.5G left. SG 1.020. Time to transfer to secondary.
8Feb: Transferred to secondary. Cold crashing.
8Feb. Placed yeast in mason jar in reefer.
