Taste Notes

Initial taste notes suggest a pronouneced coffee flavor which wasn't present in the first version. This probably comes from the base recipe rather than the aging - the non-barrel aged portion of the batch has a similar coffee dimension but not as pronounced. Initial characteristics from this barrel: - not as much whiskey flavor as the previous barrel/batch - not as intense vanilanin (perhaps because Golden is aging their whiskey longer in the barrel??) - more toasted flavors coming off the barrel (I think this accentuates the coffee flavors)
