Notes

Recipe from Sierra Nevada Website. They use whole cone Cascade hops. Will need to adjust boil length and Hop amounts to get correct IBU. I entered as they listed it on their website ABV 5.6% OG 13.1 Plato, (1.053) FG 2.8 Plato, (1.011) IBU 38 05-21-2020 Adjusted recipe to current inventory as well as Brewhouse Efficiency from 65% to 60% based on last batch with SS Brewtech System. 09-17-2020 BH Efficiency from 60% to 55% due to added losses because of whole hops, Martis Otter from 13 to 14, Trub Loss from 2.00 to 3.00, Fermentor loss from .50 to .75, mash temp from 155 to 154 09-18-2020 BREW DAY! BATCH #220 09-18-2020 Added in .25# of Carapils Copper on the fly, did not adjust water volumes. Also decided to use a full Whirlfloc tablet instead of a half. Hops harvested by CeCe while Ron was brewing. Rough weight estimate is 1# 9.50 oz, which was about 3.00 Gallons volume wise in a Bucket Fermentor. Harvested by 10:00 AM and into boil at 11:25. Problems with whirlpool noticed while chilling, screen plugging up, probably due to the 2.00 ounces of pellet hops used during the boil. If using the screen, ALL hops should be leaf. 09-19-2020 6:30 AM Still 1.053, 8:40 PM 1.049 bright white kreasen and steady airlock activity. 09-20-2020 6:45 AM 1.044 Still steady Airlock activity, 11:30 AM 1.043 Airlock seems more active, 5:15 PM 1.041 09-21-2020 6:20 AM 1.031 Airlock stioll vrey active, kreasen almost up to airlock. 09-21-2020 11:00 AM REMOVED INVENTORY (Actually no Carapils Copper or 2020 Wet Hops in inventory) 09-21-2020 4:30 PM Had to switch airlock due to kreasen creeeping up. 09-22-2020 6:30 AM 1.020 Switched airtlock again. Airlock activity is still pretty active but kreasen may have dropped a little bit. 09-23-2020 6:15 AM 1.014 Airlock activity may have stopped. Still has positive pressure. 4:30 PM 1.012 09-24-2020 6:15 AM 1.010 09-25-2020 9:45 AM 1.010 09-26-2020 7:45 AM 1.009 10-07-2020 2:00 PM 1.009 Added (4) ounces of 2018 Home grown hops for dry hop. It was pretty full in the Big Mouth Depth Charge which has a (2) ounce recomendation for whole hops. 10-11-2020 11:00 AM KEGGED 5.50 in Fermentor transferred to Torpedo Keg. Filled till it came out Gas QD, Estimate .50 left in Ferm, so 5.00 to Keg. Tilt FG 1.010, Hydro FGG 1.010 = 5.50% ABV. Final pH 4.58 at 61.7
