Notes
We made a few recipe adjustments to the core recipe to adjust some nuances and style preferences, but that still fit within the major theme of spreading awareness. Most notably, we reduced the starting gravity, swapped out dextrose for dark candi sugar, and toned down some of the percentages of black malt and chocolate malt, because we have a lot of minerality in our water, and we didn’t want the burnt/acrid notes to be too out of balance with the other components. We also are trying the brand new (as of June 2020) Omega Lutra Strain. So we hope this beer will be a bit of a Baltic Porter in flavor profile.
Inspired by the Black Is Beautiful Beer from Weathered Souls Brewing. We are brewing this beer to promote the causes and concerns of the black community, and will use the brew time to reflect on what systemic racism means/looks like in our community, and within our lives. We support the Black Lives Matters cause, and value, and encourage open diologue. More info about this beer and its cause can be found at: https://blackisbeautiful.beerThis Recipe Has Not Been Rated
