Taste Notes

Fantastic Schwartzbier. beautiful flavour, so intense, of chocolate. Desirably very little roasted flavour. Awesome head retention. Sensational.

Batch - 01 ======= Fermentation Started - 23/01/2012 - OG = ? (Fridge running about 15 +/- 3 deg) - SafLager S-23 Racked - 31/01/2012 - SG = 1014 Kegged - 1/2/2012 - FG = 1014 Batch - 02 ======= 12:37 - Started filling kettle and switched on - 31 litres (top thin line) 13:30 - Added grain and stirred for a couple of minutes - Mash start (75 mins) 14:45 - Turned on kettle to step up to mash out 14:57 - Start mash out (10 mins) 15:07 - Remove bag and fire up the kettle *** 27.5 litres with a good amount of squeezing of the bag *** 15:44 - Finally ready for the bittering hops (about 10 minutes of boiling before I added the hops) 16:28 - Add flavour hops and whirfloc tablet 16:38 - Add aroma hops 16:43 - Switch off urn Batch - 12/04/12 ======= Fermentation Started - 12/04/12 - OG = 1052 - SafLager S-23 Racked - 31/01/2012 - SG = Kegged - 1/2/2012 - FG =
