Taste Notes

very tropical fruity hop flavors with some balancing bitterness, was hoping for a more piney resinous, but the hops were not condusive to that. Appearance is pretty hazy. May be more akin to NEIPA than WCIPA. Not bad, Ben seems to like it.

Notes

Derived from the shared All Together recipe hosted by Other Half Brewing in NYC. I eliminated flaked barley and carapils. 4/11/2020 - good brew day. Spot on on mash temp. Mashed about 90 min. Added gypsum and lactic acid (eyeballed this about 2 tsp after a 5.4 pH reading. Victor, Gary, and Mike Diment stopped by, with V and G helping with clean up. Added hops loose in the boil and whirlpool and had no issues with clogging the counterflow chiller. Added 1/2 gallon distilled water to bring OG from 1.070 to 1.061. Ended up w 5.75 gallons in fermenter. 4/15/20 - SG at 1.010, airlock activity still observed. Added 1.18 oz (0.75 oz left from brew day + 0.43 oz from the past) Cascade and 0.25 oz Mosaic 4/18/20 - will add 1 oz mosaic, 0.75 citra, and 0.75 simcoe. SG at 1.008 (or 9) 4/21/20 - will add 0.25 citra and 0.25 simcoe 4/23/20 - xferred to keg. Put in garage fridge to cold crash 4/24/20 - 0830 - put 40 psi on keg per brulosophy burst carb notes, low/med carb after 12 hours, high carbonation in 30 hours. Plan is bottle tomorrow morning. 4/25/20 - beer was very flat. Bumped up to 20 psi and shook it like crazy, but then the beer gun only VERY slowly pushed foam. Seems to be a bit of debris. Put back in fridge to cold crash out the debris. 4/26/20 - 2000 - xferred to clean keg and set at 32 psi 4/27/20 - 0800 - reduced pressure to 19 psi. 2000 - bottled 41 longnecks and 1 bomber with purple caps. Looks great with the label!
