Taste Notes
Wow. Really well received over the annual 4th of July lake extravaganza. Got more compliments on this brew than I ever have (even had a heathen, non-beer drinker going for seconds). Wish some was left to enter into competition. I really liked it too.
Flavor: Just enough roast to give it good color and a subtle roasty flavor (heard the word "chocolate" more than a few times). Malt and hops very well balanced and, yes, it's just one 20 minute hop addition. No off flavors -- very clean
Aroma: a bit more roast in the nose than the mouth. The nose is enticing.
Color: Medium brown with good brightness.
ABV was session strength so we could kick back and have a few without getting too wobbly. A very good 'hang out on the deck, feel the breeze, chat with friends, and watch the sun set' beer.
Head: Fair retention. Carb was on the low side because the beer was traveling (didn't want it to get to hyper). White head with a bit of lacing. This Recipe Has Not Been Rated
