Taste Notes

The beer has a complex malty flavour. But its lacking in bitterness. I would add more hops next time. It has a syrupy/oily mouth feel which might be reated to extended mashing because it got stuck. Its not super clear but I just bottled right from the fermenter. I give it a 7 out of 10.

Notes

During mash in it looked really dry so we added 1.5L at this stage (Later sparged to 28L was in the pot) Mashing got stuck again. and the setpoint for mash over shot by two with the big element on. we ended up mashing for more like two hours by the time we got it sorted. had lots of burned stuff stuck to the element. might be because of the 90 min boil? or maybe because we started the elements before we finished sparging, thereby a super high SG was being cooked. Micheal disrupted the grains during sparging to make it go a bit quicker. need to check if this affected the clarity. ended up accidentally spilling two litres of mash while transfering into fermenter. ---------- left in fridge to lager while in Europe on Holiday. Bottled on 14/8. added 90g of priming sugar (in 300ml). Didnt add any extra yeast. DPL 619
