Notes

29 day old yeast. 1.2 L starter for 24 hours Starter got a little warm (76 - 78 deg) Mash temp read 144 deg, but think it was due to taking temp manually with BBQ thermometer. Should have had more than enough heat in the infusion. 50 min mash, 10 minute recirc First runn-off 4.5 gal @ 1.057 Batch sparge for 10 min, 10 minute recirc of sparge, then 30 minute run off to collect 7.5 gal @ 1.041 Cooled to 175, then 10 minute whirpool with whirlpool hops During cooling found tiny trickly of water from hose running into kettle (FFUUCCKK!!) Cooled to 85 over 30 minutes (warm day), stirred to whirlpool, then transferred about 30 minutes later Cooled to 66 in fridge, then pitched entire starter No visible activity at 8 hours.
