04/2515 reduced ibu by reducing Northern brewer hops from 2.65 0Z to 2.0 OZ Using yeast from Irish red in 15 gal fermenter. WLP 004 Irish ale yeast. strike almost perfect. 155.5° added 1/2 gal sparklets to cover yeast during chill. 11 gal into fermenter. oxygen about 2 minutes at 1liter. kegged 05/10/15 topped CO 2 debating on kegg or bottle. placed in fermenter at 40° untill have time. ===================================================================== starter from WLP002 starter 3L 1044 till 101 1.015 used 1.5L mistake left approx 2 gal water in Kegggle, boiled from 11 gals to just under 9 gals before starting first addition end boil at just under 7 gals. 6+ gals to fermenter pitched at 60° 02 weeks @ for 62° dropped to 50° for 3 days dropped to 35°for 5 days kegged 11/09/13 ------------------------------------------------------------------- 04/26/14 wort from mash 9.25 gal forgot to meaasure og until boil started. first wort hop Northern brewer. excess ibu removed from kegle at beginning of boil. reintroduce @30 min. preboil 1.033sg post boil @7 Gal 05/01/14 SG 1.008 @67 ° trfr to clearing needed carboy transfered to 2 5s 4 and 2.5. tshirt in dining room 5/03/14 jegged in 10 gal 6/13/14 1.002 fg HYDRO sample from first carboy tasted "funky" Think from too long and too hot. Next batch has to be temp controlled. 2nd carboy not rigt but not as noticable. chilled & carbonated willl pass.
