Session D bomb! Dry hopping jan 31 very clear though! Might have to krausen.
Feb 8 transferred to keg. Just not good. Homebrew twang. What is it? Not bitter enough. Too kuch caramel. No hoppyness hardly. Notes
First electric system brew. Split batch. A lot of malt. Did 4.5 in corny with repitch of yeast from a one gallon cream ale WLP 833 pils. O2. 59 degrees fermentation to start. 2 gallons I added to one gallon of water for a 1042 beer with rehydrated us 05. No o2. Been 3-4 days at 56 to 59. high krausen now.
1-26 let go up to 62 yesterday. Had been at 57 mostly. Still high k. Lagers can ferment for 3 weeks. Looks like I got 62% mash efficiency.
127 fluffy krausen but seems done. Moved session to smaller 3.5 keg to Dry hop , both with 1 oz simco 1 oz nugget. too soon at that low temp though because I have a crystal clear d bomb. Dry hops are not detectable just d. Going to krausen.
The IPA is good, 1014 now still fluffy but cold crash should fix. No room for it anywhere though. Cold crashed feb 2? Added biofine 2-5 evening maybe 10 to 12 ml.. Want to serve saturday so only keg avail is a 2 gallon one.
Feb 9 put in rhino keg and little keg. 2 each. 2 oz columbus flowers in 2.5 gallon keg. Tastes a little meh. not extra clear. The session I krausened and still had fluf and major co2 on feb 8. WILLhave to wait for that one.
I don't know what happened here
by chrismcnallythis beer is just not bitter. tastes like 30 ibu. it is supposed to be 85 ibu. I see that the 1 minute additions are contributing a lot of ibu and that has to be false.
