Notes

1st time with new kettle. Started with 10.5" ended with 8.5" but produced only 9 to 9.5 gal. Screen Plugged and chilling was slow. Used yeast and trub from 1 carboy of red ale..safeale05. Refrigerated overnight in sterile jug and allowed to warm while brewing. Split between both carboys. 1/14/11Dry hopped 1 secondary with 1.5oz of amarillo and 1.5oz simcoe both pellets. When kegged, beer had a grassy raw hop flavor. HIt it's prime 2/13/11 tasted more fruity. Tasted 5 days after kegging....some grassiness still there. USE WHOLE HOPS NEXT TIME! 2/14/11 2nd carboy dry hopped with 1 oz of Cascade and 1 oz of Centennial, both whole hops.
