Notes
01-22-05: Brought mash water up to 163. After dough-in, temp dropped to 146(?). Heated 2 qts, which raised mash temp to 150. Mashed 60 mins at ~150 (loss of 5 degrees after 60 mins). Very little vorlauf needed (for initial sparge, or secondary). Emptied tun, then added 3.5 gal of sparge water (@170 degrees). Came up with 5.5 gallons of 1.069 sweet wort. Boiled one pot for 90 (to reduce the volume some), and then did both for 60 mins. Hop additions normal. Chilled, pitched onto dregs of last week's IPA. Very nice reddish color -- tasty. Very chunky.
