mash in with 15 gallons @163-164 degrees. Mash at 153 - HIT THE MASH TEMP NUMBERS SPOT ON! 4-26-13
Added one extra oz of Sterling because it's a little old.
First runnings 178F
Added 6.6 Gallons for 1st rinse. S.G.=1.037
Added 8 Gallons for 3rd rinse S.G.=1.027
pre-boil 1.050
end of boil 1.055
16 gallons yeilded (low!)
racked to Cornys on 5/7/13 - it looked like pure white yeast was all that was on the bottom. Harvested a gallon of it. NO TRUB!
I could extend my pickup tube for another 1/2 gallon probably but for a really big beer that might be too much (more yeast) I need to go another 1/4" anyway
