Notes

Kegged 17/8/17 Brother Hope you are enjoying your day off. I am. In addition to other discussed activities I went to see Dunkirk. Highly recommend. Very immersive experience. Also, contains quite a lot of spitfire action, again very immersive, which I am sure you would like. Here is my beer recipe: 3.2kg Maris Otter 1 kg light munich (Best Munich 1) 250g medium crystal 300g toasted oats (I intended to use 500g but found 300g was all I had. I toasted them in a 180 oven for about 15 minutes) 40g Warrior hops 15.6% 40g Citra hops 13.9% US-05 Single infusion mash at 67 degrees for 60 minutes. 15 minute mashout at 78 degrees. Sparge with about 3 litres of hot water. Boil 90 minutes. 40g warrior at 60. Topped up the kettle with about 1 litre of boiling water (unnecessary I concluded) 1/2 tab irish moss. Citra hops all into the cube, none in the kettle. Collected 19 1/2 litres wort at SG 1050. Fermented down to FG 1014. Crash chilled. Kegged. One of my better beers I think. I have never used either of these hops before. Warrior I found very good as a clean bittering hop. Citra is awesome. And putting the Citra in the cube rather than the braumeister was a good move I think. Retains more of the flavour and aroma. This was a lot more bitter than my usual beer – I would probably use only 30g of the warrior hops next time. No. 1
