Taste Notes

This is a delicious American-style Red ale that keeps the hops and malt characters in balance. There's something special, to me at least, about San Diego Super Yeast (WLP090), which ferments this beer out nice and clean though leaves just the right amount of residual sweetness. The flavor/aroma blend of Willamette and Cascade hops is killer.

A trip down the Amber Road

by Brulosopher

This is an easy beer to go back to numerous times without even noticing. Kegs usually only last less than 2 weeks around my home... this one barely a week. Cheers!

This is an amazingly smooth ale

I love this one. I fermented this in two stages instead of one.
Incredibly smooth and easy to drink. Well balanced and tickles all the tastebuds.
Wish it would last longer, need to brew this one again...

Did this in a two stage fermentation and talk about a great drinking beer. Easy drinking and impresses all my buddies. Will be doing this more often!

One of the best I've brewed

by bertodyer

This has to be one of the smoothest, best tasting beers I've brewed. My friends bring me their growlers to fill and there's always plenty of compliments when I brew this one.

I've brewed this three times now. Without doubt the best thing I've ever produced

by pellis007

Don't know why but this one took months to come around. Finally after 6-7 months it has become drinkable. It ended up pretty good, but not as good I had hoped. The only change I made was scaling it down to a 5.25 gal batch. I'll give it a try again this season.

Great beer - ? About final hop

I really enjoy this beer, and my wife is particularly fond of it! One question: why the boil of Cascade for one minute? Why not just add it at flame-out and let it steep a little?

Thanks for the great recipe!

Fermenting Now

Made a 10 gallon batch. Almost ready to keg! 4-12-15. I'll post results!

A very easy drinking beer!

by beardedone

I brewed this about 4 weeks ago and got it kegged the other day. The wife and I enjoyed a few while watching The Super Bowl last night. Very easy drinker. I like the maltiness followed by the Cascade grapefruit flavor at the end. Next time I think I will add a little more Cascade at the end of boil or maybe even dry hop some cascades.

This was my first all grain beer and I am bloody hooked. My other half liked it so much she bought me a Robobrew to make more!
