Notes

3/27/13 Brewed a Arrogant Bastard clone. Recipe from internet. Ingredients from Bull Falls Brew Depot Brewed in basement -- Boiled 2 cups water to hydrate yeast with and let cool to 90 -- Heated 2 gal of water on cook top to 158, ground grain and steeped for 30 min. -- While this was being done, heated 5 gal of water in brew pot -- After steeping was done added steep water to brew pot to bring to ~7 gal (there would have been some loss) -- Brougt to boil -- There was no apparent hot break -- added hops and it almost boiled over -- added remainder of hops according to schedule except messed up 0 min addition and put it in for a 10 min boil. -- cooled to 70 -- let sit a few min then drained off to bucket. -- looked like we had 5 gal so measured SPG and it was at 1.094 (estimated was 83). -- added 02 for 60 sec then pitched yeast. -- put on air lock blow out tube because I though the fermentation might be aggressive. -- after a couple of hous I noticed that there was only about 4.5 gals in bucket so I added water to qs to 5gal. -- SPG then measured 1.080 -- Since the batch boiled down to 4.5 gal could have started with 7.25 gals. 3/28/13 -- Wort is already bubbling very nicely. 3/31/13 -- Done bubbling -- SPG = 1.021, tastes good.
