Notes

First whirl with new fermentors, plate chiller, trubfilter, inline 02, adn pumping directly to fermentor. Brewing this for our Solera project. 100 Liters are this recipe the other 120 is just pils. mixed o5 and 04 yeast. Water profile Yellow Full (55Cl, 70So) TO MASH: 1.61 CaCl, 1.88gr CaSo 2.68ml Phos. TO SPARGE: 2.39gr CaCl, 2.78gr CaSo 4.86. Grains ground a week before brewday, rollers seem to have widened so ground twice, the flour ended up clumping a bit in the mash. Carbon filtered water. Brewday June 13 Dough in at 7:34 @ 172.4 hit 158.8 after some stirring. pH at 15 min was 5.94 (!), added 4 ml of phosphoric acid. pH at 20 min 5.46. left it. Ok, mess of a brew day (as new equipment days usually are. Bleached the ferm chamber in a very serious way. Washed the new fermentor with the new DIY PBW. The half oz of hops clogged the filter, bag next time. the chiller did not cool well, not sure about that. pumping it over the hump worked. o2 was inline but ran out so unclear how much it got. pitched 33 grams of US-05 warm, no hydration so i over pitched. Preboil og was 1.048 and after extensive boiloff it only went to 1.05 (again. this is weird.) Preboil pHwas 5.75 going down tpo 5.65 post boil. (high). volumes unclear, big kettle. after 4 hourss in the chamber it was at 21, set for 18.
