Notes
Starter - 70DME= 700 mL starter that I pitched the yeaster at around 65 at 9:16pm 1/26/2013.
- Stir plate stirring pretty fast
- Did not boil over when boiling the dme and 700mL of water
- let it spin until mid after noon on 1/27/2013 and then put in fridge but that was not enough time spinning I don't think and it was not enough time cooling.
Mashed in a 151 at 12:17. I did have to reheat the strike water because it lost a lot of temp. The second time i started putting the water in the MT at 166-165.
Temp at the end was 146 and the idodine did turn yellow at the end of the hr
157 was our sparge water temp with all 5.92 gallons of water in the mash tun
OG 9 @ 20C @ 171 = 1.035 OG pre boil
BK volume 5.75 gallons after cooled and the chiller was pulled out but I did end up doing a 90 minute boil that left me a little short on final wort
brix is 2 lines short of 12 so I think it is 11.6
Pictched the yeast at 64 at 5pm MST
Fermentation the next morning is not really bubbling but there is a good kraeusen
2/3 gravity was 1.008 from hydro and brix 4.6 (this seems to be off)
dropped the stopper into the beer because i had sani on it so it was slick
alcohol taste, cannot taste hops, not much flavor
2/12 @ 10:42pm put in cooler at 7.4 C = 45.3
2/14 it is running at 2.0 CThis Recipe Has Not Been Rated
