Taste Notes

Had a version brewed with a standard Chico/US05/American Ale strain. Was quite pleasant. Notes for cascade dry hopped using WY1217 West Coast IPA Yeast Sample had a lot of potential. This will be interesting come end of dry hop and carbonating it.

Notes

Pitched 24/06/2014 - Yeast Started with 2 stage starter as viability around 23%. Started with a 1.5 litre starter, on stir plate for 24h. This brought est. cell count up to approx. 123-223 billion (difference between Zaineshef and Troster numbers). Second pitch into 4.5ish litre starter at 1.038 - this gives between 572 and 803 billion cells. Will try and coax trub out of fermenter if this yeast is any good! Dry hop with 30g cascade at FG - approx. 7 days. Target FG 1.011 28/06 1:21 AM - racked off trub, reading approx. 1.005. This puts us at 6.4% ABV. Racked approx. 21.5 litres ish onto 30g Cascade - filtration on Saturday 5/7 into keg.
