Taste Notes

This turned out surprisingly sweet - it would be better with less crystal 60 and/or a lower mash temp, I think. I would also add more smoked malt. It's a real challenge picking out the smoky note in the finished beer, despite it's presence in the wort. While subtle is what I was going for, immitating Tumbler, it's -too- subtle. 50% more smoked malt sounds about right.

Notes

Hoping for a similar beer to Sierra Nevada Tumbler. Aiming for Bru'n Water "Brown Balanced" water profile. Smoke note really came out in the wort when tasted. Tried to keep fermentation temp as close to 60 as possible.

Sounds pretty good

I'll put this into my lineup.
Sounds easy and cheap!
I'll be brewing this on Sunday 12-2-12.
I'll post the results next year!!
12-18-12. It's in the keg! Will be sampling it in a couple of days!
Mine was good but not smokey enough either. I would also add some more smoked malt. Mine wasn't sweet.
