Notes

Increased boil time (90 minute) to adjust for equipment and boiloff. 90 minute mash used to increase efficency. Water agents added to approximately match Cardiff, Wales water (I use Reverse Osmosis, De-ionized water, 5.4 ph, as my baseline) Mothers Molasses (not blackstrap) was used instead of Lyle's Black Treacle. \ Based upon information from the internet, the following information was used to match this recipe to Brains SA Black OG 1.035 IBU 25 ABV 3.5% Color Black Grainbill: Pale, Crystal Malt, Choclate Malt, Dark Invert Syrup (Lyles Black Treacle) Bittering Hops: Challenger, Fuggles Aroma Hops: Goldings Yeast: proprietary English Ale strain
